The Robert L. Brack Scholarship Committee is proud to announce its’ annual music scholarship award in honor of Mr. Robert L. Brack. Mr. Brack retired from the Little Rock School District after thirty-eight years as a choral music teacher. He spent his last twenty-eight years of service as Choral Music Director at Little Rock Central High School. He was also an advocate for the Central Region Choral Directors Association. The Robert L. Brack Music Scholarship will be awarded to a qualified senior from the ArkCDA Central Region who will pursue a music education in a fully accredited college or university.

Award Amount: At least $1000
Eligibility Requirements
- Must pursue a degree in Music Education or Music Performance
- Must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA (Submit an official transcript in a sealed school envelope)
Essay
- Must submit a typewritten essay of at least 300 words, but not exceeding 325 words detailing the applicant’s desire to have a career in Music Education, Vocal Music or Instrumental Music Performance.
Recommendations
- Three letters of recommendation. One must be from the applicant’s choral or instrumental music teacher and a letter from two of his of her other high school teachers.

Audition/Interview Date
- Saturday, March 16, 2019 beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Audition Requirements
- Vocalists: Perform two short contrasting compositions from the “classical” art song, spiritual or Broadway musical repertoire.
- Instrumentalists: Perform two short contrasting compositions from the “classical” or Broadway musical repertoire.
Scholarship Recipient will be expected to perform two solo selections in a scholarship concert on March 31, 2016 between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Note: Vocal musicians will be given first priority followed by piano and organ musicians. If no musician is selected from the priority category, musicians who play other instruments will be considered. (The winner for t2014 was a wind instrument and piano performer)
Please provide your own accompanist for your audition and for your concert performance. If an accompanist is not available to accompany you, be sure to provide a good quality recording of the accompaniment on CD. Bring your own CD player for your audition.
